A Bigger, Stronger, Bridge PHL!

Hi All!

AngelPirate Productions' #1 priority project continues to be The Bridge PHL for which I am Co-Artistic Director with Hannah Tsapatoris MacLeod. So much exciting stuff is happening with The Bridge PHL right now.

Former Co-Producer, Carla Ezell, recently stepped into a new leadership role of Production Director for which she continues to wear many hats and to make The Bridge PHL better every day. We love you Carla!

This August we had open call auditions for our upcoming annual theatre festival this November at The Rotunda. The festival has swelled this year to 16 short plays and performances, many of which had open roles that needed casting. We met dozens of wonderful actors at the open call, and now our shows are in rehearsal. November will be here before we know it!

Hey, I have a new blog over at The Bridge PHL website. It's called "Beyond the Pale" and is a mini-journal of my journey to fill in the vast voids in my knowledge of American history, American present, and my understanding of racism in this country - voids where black and brown American voices, stories and achievements should always have been - through books, articles, blogs, and podcasts. Please check it out and let me know what you think!

Thank you as always for dropping by!

Gabrielle

In Full Swing!

Hi Everybody!

As I write this The Bridge PHL Theatre Festival is in full swing and going strong, receiving full houses and standing ovations. I could not be more excited about the plays and artists on our roster this year. Each piece is very different from the others and range from broad comedy to poignant spoken word. I hope you had the chance to see it, but if not we will soon have videos posted on The Bridge PHL YouTube channel and on our website thebridgephl.org.

Thanks for visiting the AngelPirate blog!

Gearing Up for the next Bridge PHL Festival

Happy Summer!

It is a really exciting time for AngelPirate and The Bridge PHL. We have received submissions from some very gifted and inspiring local artists for the festival this November, and we are in the process of reviewing the pieces and lining up the show. The response has been wonderful, and we are truly grateful to have the opportunity to present such striking and stirring work.

More to come!
